Great Circle Challenge ←Previous

A great circle is a full diameter of the globe. The equator is a great circle and so is every circle that goes through the poles.

These lines show random great circles. Pan and zoom to see which parts are over water (in blue) and which over land (in red). Click on one and you'll see the exact percentage. Zoom in to see the details of the coastlines.

I wanted to know what the limits were. Was there any great circle that was at least 90% ocean? What about 50% land?
Two points on the globe define a great circle, so click on two spots and see what you get. Try to find a circle that is more than 80% ocean. How about a really dry one?
